Simon Ngui

Simon Ngui is a singer / songwriter from Adelaide, South Australia. He is available for booking as a solo acoustic artist for pubs, restaurants, public venues, weddings and other events. Simon is a multi-instrumentalist has also performed as a drummer, guitarist, backup vocalist and keyboard/synth player with other Adelaide acts including Kat Jade and Funtimes Band. Simon has a repertoire of over 250 songs from classic rock to alternative and indie genres. He first found his passion for live music playing drums and combined this with his songwriting passion for alternative Adelaide group, The Phobias (2001-2008). Post-Phobias, Simon continued to pursue music and achieved a Diploma in Music in Vocals from TAFESA, where he made many lifelong friendships with like-minded musicians, forming Triggerhertz (2014-2017). In 2025, Simon released his first single "The Moment" to Spotify, with more to come. His influences include Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nirvana, The Beatles, Jeff Buckley, Crowded House, Beck, Gorillaz, Radiohead and blues and jazz (among many, many others). Simon chose professional solo acoustic work in 2016 and has regularly performed at pubs, weddings and public events across metropolitan and regional Adelaide. Away from music, Simon is currently studying a Bachelor of Science in Palaeontology at Flinders University and loves spending time with his young family.
